Dr. Yeonji Jung joined the Learning Technologies and Performance Systems (LTPS) program at Texas A&M University as an Assistant Professor in 2025. As a learning scientist and designer, her research advances agentic and actionable educational discourses through analytics-informed approaches. Positioned at the intersection of learning sciences, learning analytics, and human-centered design, Dr. Jung’s research centers on three core areas: (1) investigating the semantic and temporal patterns of collaborative discourse in technology-enhanced learning environments (e.g., AI-assisted conversations, social annotation) using learning analytics techniques; (2) designing and developing actionable, analytics-informed solutions (e.g., personalized student messages, AI agents) that foster rich interactions among learners, educators, data, and digital tools; (3) examining how innovations in AI and learning analytics impact authentic teaching and learning practices through contextually situated implementations.
Before joining Texas A&M, Dr. Jung served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Memphis. She earned her Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Educational Communication and Technology from New York University, where she collaborated extensively with the NYU Learning Analytics Research Network (NYU-LEARN). Her contributions have been recognized internationally, including selection to the Early Career Researcher Editorial Board at the British Journal of Educational Technology (BJET), receipt of the Best Paper Award at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Korean-American Educational Researchers Association (K-AERA), and recognition as an Emerging Scholar at the NSF-supported convening of the Center for Integrative Research in Computing and Learning Sciences (CIRCLS).
