Dr. Rose A. Santos is a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor in Human Resource Development at Texas A&M University.

She earned a B.A. in English Professional Writing with a Studio Art Minor from Baylor University, a M.S. in Secondary Education from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Development/ Adult Education from Texas A&M University in 2013.

Most recently, she completed coursework to earn a Principal Certificate from Lamar University in the spring of 2023. Dr. Santos has also taken on professional experiences that have focused on public education for 20 years, where she has incorporated program planning, organizational development, and career development, which are fundamental to adult learners.

Dr. Santos has also been a Visiting Lecturer and Adjunct Assistant Professor involved in human resource development and adult education undergraduate and graduate programs at Texas A&M University since 2017. She teaches courses on applied learning principles in adult education, organizational development, methods for teaching adults, training and development, and globalization and diversity in the workplace. Her research focuses on (1) topics of persistence and validation among underrepresented groups of students, (2) P-20 pipeline access and success issues, (3) social justice, diversity and equity in adult and higher education, (3) qualitative research methods and literacy development among Hispanic families. She examined teaching practices during COVID – 19 among faculty members and presented and had this study published in the American Association of Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) 2020 Conference proceedings.


Her service contributions relevant to HRD include serving as a proposal reviewer for the AAACE Conference 2020-2021. Dr. Santos previously served as a reviewer for the Adult Learning Journal from 2010-1016. Her service now includes various activities associated with local Brazos Valley communities and the greater Houston area in the field of fine arts education. Lastly, she is a supportive and contributing member to fine arts where she is also a member of two organizations Brazos Valley Art Educators’ Association (BVAEA) and Texas Art Education Association. She had artwork showing her diverse interests in family dynamics in educational pursuits and at the BVAEA Spotlight Series on Art Educators at George Bush Presidential Library.
